VVC - und wir waren beim Gucken nur zu dritt -Ute, Silke und Jö- aber eingentlich sogar nur zu 2 1/10tel da Jö zwar bis zum Schluss durchgehalten, aber den Labtop die meiste Zeit zugeklappt hatte, weil es ihm alles bei weitem zu brutal war.

Set in the middle of 13th century when Christianity was taking over native Paganism in Central Europe, the film tells the story of a daughter of a feudal lord who is kidnapped by neighbouring robber knights shortly before she is to join a convent .
Marketa Lazarová was voted the all-time best Czech movie in a 1998 poll of Czech film critics and publicists.[5] Although not quite as known as other Czechoslovakian movies, it is highly regarded by those who have watched as one of the best historical movies ever made. The movie also features subtly surrealistic images throughout its run to increase the delirious atmosphere.

Meine hohen Erwartungen in den Film, die ich hatte, weil ich auch von der Beurteilung als "Bester Tschechischer Film Ever" gehört hatte, waren dann doch arg enttäuscht worden. Ich konnte dem Film nicht sonderlich viel gutes abgewinnen.
